Christ Born of the Virgin Mary
Matthew 1:18-25Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows:
After His mother Mary was engaged to Joseph,
before they came together.
She was found with child of the Holy Spirit.
Then Joseph her husband, being a just man,
and not wanting to make her a public example,
was minded to put her away secretly.
But while he thought about these things,
behold,
an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David,
do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife,
for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
And she will bring forth a Son,
and you shall call His name Jesus,
for He will save His people from their sins.”
So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which
was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying...
“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son
and they shall call His name Immanuel,”
which is translated, “God with us.”
Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep,
did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife,
and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son.
And he called His name Jesus. "Immanuel" "God with us"
~~Reflections~~~
Mary being a Virgin of flesh and blood.
and for the child Jesus was Miraculously
conceived in her womb was of the Holy Spirit.
A DIVINE MIRACLE!
As His Word spoke this world into existence.
Gods HIS Holy Spirit Miraculously, Supernatural Intervention had her conceive Jesus.
Matthew mentions the paternity of the Holy Ghost very quickly.
Before either Joseph or Mary are mentioned.
Some scriptures to references for the virgin birth are Matthew 1:18-25, Luke 1:26-38 Galatians 1-4
From the Old Testament prophetic message in Isaiah 7:14.
Christmas is more than just a tree, lights, gifts, jingle bells, holiday, or a birthday.
All through out the Bible, God has used days to remember things.
Nine major holidays and Sabbath days instructed by God in the Old Testament.
Seven of these were appointed feasts, meant to be a sacred time when the Israelites met with God. Three of these seven appointed feasts were pilgrimage feasts, when all Israelite males were required to appear before the Lord at the temple in Jerusalem.
Lets take a look at the celebration of the Birth of Jesus or also known as Christmas, from a Christian perspective. There is a lot of biblical basis, traditional observances, seasons, facts, and an interesting section revealing the fulfillment of the Messiah, Jesus Christ throughout the Bible.
Christmas No matter what day you celebrate it. Is a reminder that God did something so Divine and Holy. He sent his Son the Messiah for us, so we could be from sins and sickness. Give God Praise!
Christmas is a reminder GOD IS WITH US!
