what are willing to give up?

John 12: 1-7
Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead only 6 days earlier.
So during this joyous dinner,  Jesus Lazarus, Martha and Mary and the others were gathering and sharing at the table.
Mary took an expensive perfume, she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair.
The house was filled with the aroma of the perfume.
The perfume was so expensive that one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot inquired.
Why wasn’t this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year’s wages.

Mary intentionally took this extravagant action as an act of worship that showed Jesus she was wholehearted devoted to Jesus. Mary was inspired to honor him. Anointing Jesus. She was happy to sacrifice something valuable of hers in order to express her love for Jesus.
Jesus replied to Judas, leave her alone for Mary was doing this for His burial. The poor will always be with you.
Jesus about to make the ultimate sacrifice dying on the cross for all mankinds sins. making salvation possible for all mankind.

This lesson of Mary’s act of sacrifice, teaches, that there is no one and nothing more deserving then  worship than God.
Consider this, like Mary’s perfume a highly valuable resource that we should use well. Our time, resources, devotion, with everything we have and are, we are to worship God and His Word.
God should be our top priority. Loving him unconditionally. No matter what the cost. Let's pause here to appreciate Mary's act of devotion. It's a powerful reminder of how our actions and gestures can express our faith and love in subtle yet profound ways. Remember, it's not always about grand gestures or loud displays, sometimes, it's the quiet moments of service and sacrifice that speak volumes.

Thank you for joining me in exploring this incredible story from the Bible. Remember that faith is not just about belief, it's about living your life in a way that honors God
