Jesus is Coming Back
Many Christians believe that Jesus Christ will return to the earth someday to judge the living and the dead, and to establish His eternal kingdom. However, no one knows the exact day or hour of His return, as Jesus Himself said, "But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father"
Matthew 24:36
This does not mean that we should be ignorant or indifferent about the signs of His coming, or the events that will precede it. Jesus also commanded His followers to watch and be ready, for He will come like a thief in the night, when people least expect it Matthew 24:42-44
He also gave us many clues and prophecies about the generation and the conditions of the world that will witness His return (Matthew 24:3-35)
Therefore, as Christians, we should live in hope and joy, knowing that our Lord and Savior is coming back soon to fulfill His promises and to reward His faithful servants. We should also live in obedience and holiness, as if He is coming back tomorrow, and not be distracted or corrupted by the things of this world. We should also live in love and compassion, and share the gospel of Jesus with everyone we meet, lest they perish without knowing Him.
Here are some practical ways to live in hope and joy as we await Jesus' return:
-**Study the Scriptures**:
The Bible is our ultimate source of truth and guidance, and it reveals God's plan and purpose for His people and His creation. By studying the Scriptures, we can grow in our knowledge and understanding of God, His character, His will, and His promises. We can also learn more about the signs and events of the end times, and how to prepare ourselves and others for them. The Bible also gives us hope and joy, as we read about God's love, grace, mercy, and faithfulness, and His wonderful future for those who love Him.
**Pray and Worship**
Prayer and worship are essential for our relationship with God, and for our spiritual growth and strength. Through prayer, we can communicate with God, express our gratitude, praise, confession, requests, and intercession. We can also listen to His voice, and receive His guidance, comfort, and peace. Through worship, we can honor and glorify God, and declare His greatness, goodness, and sovereignty. We can also experience His presence, power, and joy, and be filled with His Spirit.
-**Serve and Witness**
As followers of Christ, we are called to serve and witness to others, both inside and outside the church. We are to use our gifts, talents, and resources to bless and edify others, and to meet their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. We are also to share the good news of Jesus Christ with everyone we encounter, and to make disciples of all nations. We are to do this with love, humility, and boldness, and to rely on God's grace and power.
**Fellowship and Support**
We are not meant to live the Christian life alone, but in community with other believers. We are to f
ellowship and support one another, a
s members of the body of Christ. We are to encourage, edify, comfort, and pray for one another. We are to bear one another's burdens, and to rejoice with one another. We are to spur one another on to love and good deeds, and to hold one another accountable. We are to unite in faith, hope, and love, and to stand together in the face of trials, temptations, and persecutions.
Jesus is coming back soon, and we should be ready and eager for His return. Let us live in hope and joy, and let us live for His glory and His kingdom. Amen.
